You're suggesting on your system "opt" is inside "private"? That's odd and should not be. The only reason I know of why that might be is if you've installed and old version of Cisco's VPN client. It causes this oddness to happen. But I understood that Cisco fixed this problem years ago. Replying to [comment:1 martini@…]:

This situation was discussed on the mailing list [http://lists.macosforge.org/pipermail/macports- users/2009-February/014036.html here]. The workaround seems to be to deactivate mesa.
