gcc: installation problem, cannot exec '/opt/local/bin/i686-apple- darwin8-gcc-4.0.1': No such file or directory
Workaround: Soft-linking `/opt/local/bin/i686-apple-darwin8-gcc-4.0.1` to `/usr/bin/i686-apple-darwin8-gcc-4.0.1` seems to help get around this issue Have you used gcc_select to select another version of gcc, e.g. one you installed with MacPorts? If so, then you are being affected by #19856.
I hadn't realized that it wasn't enough to `gcc_select gcc40` to ‘undo’ the use of `gcc_select`, so yes, I have been bitten by that one.
(but is not really a workaround for me because I later stumble upon a -lgmp issue such as (identical to?) the one noted on ticket #17321). Actually #19747.
Damm! I don't know how I missed that one. Sorry for the inconvenience and thank your for the prompt and kind help. -- Ticket URL: <http://trac.macports.org/ticket/19985#comment:2> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for Mac OS
