#50109: Migrating Macports for El Capitan- reinstalling ports fails (permission denied) -----------------------------+-------------------------------- Reporter: nilou.fgh.60@… | Owner: macports-tickets@… Type: defect | Status: closed Priority: Normal | Milestone: Component: ports | Version: 2.3.4 Resolution: invalid | Keywords: elcapitan Port: | -----------------------------+-------------------------------- Changes (by ryandesign@…): * status: new => closed * resolution: => invalid Comment: Ok, that's completely normal. The command "port -qv installed > myports.txt" creates a file myports.txt in the current directory, so you need to have write permission in the current directory. /opt/local/etc/macports is not a directory where normal users have write permission, so that should not be your current directory when you run the command. Being in your home directory is a good choice. -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.macports.org/ticket/50109#comment:3> MacPorts <https://www.macports.org/> Ports system for OS X
