#14182: yelp cannot be installed due to its dependency on firefox-x11 ---------------------------------+------------------------------------------ Reporter: vinc17@macports.org | Owner: macports-tickets@lists.macosforge.org Type: defect | Status: new Priority: Normal | Milestone: Port Bugs Component: ports | Version: 1.6.0 Keywords: | ---------------------------------+------------------------------------------ yelp depends on the obsolete port firefox-x11, which cannot be built. This dependency is unnecessary (a libxul port should be created instead). -- Ticket URL: <http://trac.macosforge.org/projects/macports/ticket/14182> MacPorts </projects/macports> Ports system for Mac OS
#14182: yelp cannot be installed due to its dependency on firefox-x11 ----------------------------------+----------------------------------------- Reporter: vinc17@macports.org | Owner: macports-tickets@lists.macosforge.org Type: defect | Status: closed Priority: Normal | Milestone: Port Bugs Component: ports | Version: 1.6.0 Resolution: invalid | Keywords: ----------------------------------+----------------------------------------- Changes (by rhwood@macports.org): * status: new => closed * resolution: => invalid Comment: Firefox-x11 has now been updated to the current version. Please post bug reports against firefox-x11 if it fails. Please note that: 1. yelp has a dependency on gtkmozembed which has in the past been explicitly not supported on the Mac OS X platform by the Mozilla foundation. The decision to use Firefox instead of another embedding solution to provide gtkmozembed allows us to support only one hacked application (that was also requested) instead of multiple hacked applications. 1. work is ongoing on porting yelp from gtkmozembed to webkit-gtk for its rendering, so this issue should just go away (hopefully within the year) -- Ticket URL: <http://trac.macosforge.org/projects/macports/ticket/14182#comment:1> MacPorts </projects/macports> Ports system for Mac OS
