#40881: Mavericks breaks port downloading: /bin/gnutar not present (but /bin/tar is) ---------------------+-------------------------------- Reporter: craig@… | Owner: macports-tickets@… Type: defect | Status: new Priority: Normal | Milestone: MacPorts 2.2.1 Component: base | Version: 2.2.0 Keywords: | Port: ---------------------+-------------------------------- Mavericks ships with no /bin/gnutar, which prevents unpacking modules. I worked around this by symlinking /bin/tar -> /bin/gnutar, and that worked OK. Setting ports to use /bin/gnutar if present, but fall back to /bin/tar if not, should be a quick fix -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.macports.org/ticket/40881> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for OS X
