#18224: xfig won't start (3.2.5_4) --------------------------------+------------------------------------------- Reporter: helgel@… | Owner: macports-tickets@… Type: defect | Status: new Priority: Normal | Milestone: Port Bugs Component: ports | Version: 1.7.0 Keywords: | Port: --------------------------------+------------------------------------------- Hi I have trouble getting xfig to run. It says Warning: No type converter registered for 'translations' to 'InitialResourcesPersistent' conversion. Warning: No type converter registered for 'TranslationTable' to 'Translations' conversion. Warning: No type converter registered for 'TranslationTable' to 'Color' conversion. Warning: No type converter registered for 'TranslationTable' to 'InitialResourcesPersistent' conversion. Warning: No type converter registered for 'translations' to 'Meta' conversion. Bus error I must admit I am fairly novice when it comes to anything "under the hood", so might also be that I have done some very silly mistake here. Anyway, I ran my bi-weekly "sudo port upgrade installed" some days ago, and I guess something must have gone wrong then. xfig used to work nicely, but when I needed it today it was dead. I have tried to uninstall & re- install xfig but to no avail. Probably some of xfig's dependencies were updated recently, and xfig cannot cope (... must admit I am guessing here...). Any help would be greatly appreciated. -- Ticket URL: <http://trac.macports.org/ticket/18224> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for Mac OS

Not sure if corroborating users are useful or not, but I have the same error. I haven't used xfig in about a month, so I'm not sure exactly when it would have started, but I got the exact same error this evening. The other day I noticed a whole bunch of new X windows stuff being built, so like the original poster, I rebuilt xfig and (I think) all the dependencies with port -f upgrade xfig. Afterward, I still get the same error. MacBook Pro OS X 10.5.6 2.16 GHz dual core 2 GB RAM Macports version 1.7.0 camus:~ bxf4$ uname -a Darwin camus.local 9.6.0 Darwin Kernel Version 9.6.0: Mon Nov 24 17:37:00 PST 2008; root:xnu-1228.9.59~1/RELEASE_I386 i386 camus:~ bxf4$ /opt/local/bin/gcc --version gcc (GCC) 4.3.3 Maybe it helps. -- Ticket URL: <http://trac.macports.org/ticket/18224#comment:2> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for Mac OS
