You could install libemos +gcc5, which should invoke installation of fftw-3 +gcc5. In fact +gcc5 is in default_variants of libemos. There is a difference between variants in default_variants and user supplied variants. We had a lengthy discussions in the developer mailing list on my suggestion to treat both variants equally, but we could not agree to adopt my suggestion.
