[MacPorts] #15908: Ticket queries are not useful
#15908: Ticket queries are not useful ----------------------------------+----------------------------------------- Reporter: stephen@xemacs.org | Owner: macports-tickets@lists.macosforge.org Type: defect | Status: new Priority: Normal | Milestone: Component: wiki | Version: 1.6.0 Keywords: query, results order | ----------------------------------+----------------------------------------- For typical bugs in actively maintained ports or in base, just getting all open tickets in most-recently-submitted first order is as effective as trying to search for specific issues. At least set the presentation of query results to use most-recently- submitted-first order, then you get the genuine benefits of LIFO order along with the dubious benefits of a text query. -- Ticket URL: <http://trac.macports.org/ticket/15908> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for Mac OS

What can we do about it which is not a issue in Trac itself? -- Ticket URL: <http://trac.macports.org/ticket/15908#comment:1> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for Mac OS
#15908: Ticket queries are not useful ---------------------------------+------------------------------------------ Reporter: stephen@xemacs.org | Owner: macports-tickets@lists.macosforge.org Type: defect | Status: new Priority: Normal | Milestone: Website & Documentation Component: wiki | Version: Resolution: | Keywords: query, results order ---------------------------------+------------------------------------------ Comment (by stephen@xemacs.org): I have no idea what's an issue in Trac and what's not, I don't run any Trac instances. If possible, the query page should be set to be sorted most recent first. As far as I can tell, that can't be done by the user; she has to search first, then set sort order. -- Ticket URL: <http://trac.macports.org/ticket/15908#comment:2> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for Mac OS

Can you give me a URL for which page you think needs to be sorted, and tell me the heading of the column you want it to sort by? -- Ticket URL: <http://trac.macports.org/ticket/15908#comment:4> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for Mac OS

A faster way to get to "https://trac.macports.org/report/1?sort=ticket&asc=0" would be nice. -- Ticket URL: <http://trac.macports.org/ticket/15908#comment:5> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for Mac OS
