Try the current version first please, to see if you run into the reported issue. Yes, I reported an earlier version of the changes upstream a while back. IIRC they were not rejected downright but clearly there's been no incentive to include them, at least not everything. The people maintaining audacity for Mac apparently use the provided Xcode project which isn't appropriate for us; most of the changes are to make the autoconf/configure build system work.
