#19428: upgrade all fails because of missing port ---------------------------+------------------------------------------------ Reporter: Dave@… | Owner: macports-tickets@… Type: defect | Status: new Priority: Normal | Milestone: Port Bugs Component: ports | Version: 1.7.1 Keywords: | Port: ---------------------------+------------------------------------------------ Z% sudo port upgrade all Password: Error: a2ps is not installed Z% I don't see why this should happen. If there's an option that will keep it from happening, the error message should tell me how to re-run the command so the error won't occur. -- Ticket URL: <http://trac.macports.org/ticket/19428> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for Mac OS

Use `port upgrade outdated` if you want to upgrade everything that is installed and has a newer version available. -- Ticket URL: <http://trac.macports.org/ticket/19428#comment:1> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for Mac OS

Then the port command should look to see if there are any members of 'all' that are not installed, and diagnose 'port update all' as incorrect, AND suggest port update oudated.
