[MacPorts] #51900: cotvnc: update to chicken 2.2b2
#51900: cotvnc: update to chicken 2.2b2 --------------------------+------------------------------- Reporter: ryandesign@… | Owner: stuartwesterman@… Type: update | Status: new Priority: Normal | Milestone: Component: ports | Version: Keywords: | Port: cotvnc --------------------------+------------------------------- The cotvnc web site says it has been superseded by a new fork called chicken: https://sourceforge.net/projects/chicken/ It might be good to update the cotvnc port to chicken version 2.2b2. chicken 2.2b2 is old, from 2011, but it's newer than cotvnc 2.0b4 which is from 2006. Normally if a project changes names, we would rename the port (as when osxvnc changed its name to vineserver). However, we already have a port called chicken for an unrelated software package. So we could either continue to call the port cotvnc, or pick something new like chickenvnc. -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.macports.org/ticket/51900> MacPorts <https://www.macports.org/> Ports system for OS X

#51900: cotvnc: update to chicken 2.2b2 ---------------------------+------------------------------- Reporter: ryandesign@… | Owner: stuartwesterman@… Type: update | Status: new Priority: Normal | Milestone: Component: ports | Version: Resolution: | Keywords: Port: cotvnc | ---------------------------+------------------------------- Comment (by ryandesign@…): I looked at it too yesterday, and I couldn't find a source code distfile, only a dmg of a precompiled binary. We'd have to use `fetch.type svn` to download the source code from the Subversion repository. -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.macports.org/ticket/51900#comment:2> MacPorts <https://www.macports.org/> Ports system for the Mac operating system

I also wanted to make a {{{-devel}}} sub-port with a newer branch anyway. -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.macports.org/ticket/51900#comment:3> MacPorts <https://www.macports.org/> Ports system for the Mac operating system
#51900: cotvnc: update to chicken 2.2b2 ---------------------------+------------------------------- Reporter: ryandesign@… | Owner: stuartwesterman@… Type: update | Status: closed Priority: Normal | Milestone: Component: ports | Version: Resolution: fixed | Keywords: Port: cotvnc | ---------------------------+------------------------------- Changes (by mf2k@…): * status: new => closed * resolution: => fixed Comment: r154026. Devel subport left commented out because it would not build for me. Hopefully someone else can take a look at it and get it fixed. The latest trunk seems stable and allows secure VNC. -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.macports.org/ticket/51900#comment:4> MacPorts <https://www.macports.org/> Ports system for the Mac operating system
