Since akonadi doesn't work with mysql port I subtest you to develop a postgreesql and mariadb variant for the akonadi port ?

Note : the postgreesql variant exist on linux.

I would like have the choice between : Mysql5 Maradb (free software clone of mysql) postgreesql (free software)

Can you develop thees variants ?

Once all ports using MySQL offer all these choices, we will deprecate mysql5.
