It wouldn't compile on OS X 64bit, so I created a patch for that and it works smoothly on mavericks. I'm not sure how to do this, but I'll add the updated portfile and the patch to this ticket. If I have have to do something different, feel free to tell me because I'm learning how to contribute to MacPorts!
