The closest existing program on darwin/macports is shlock(1), which is neither as secure or robust. -- Ticket URL: <http://trac.macports.org/ticket/23733> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for Mac OS

The former name is now a scam. -- Ticket URL: <http://trac.macports.org/ticket/23733#comment:1> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for Mac OS

I don't think it is included in any macport. -- Ticket URL: <http://trac.macports.org/ticket/23733#comment:2> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for Mac OS

#23733: flock - manages flock(2) locks from within shell scripts or the command line ----------------------+-------------------------------- Reporter: dargo@… | Owner: macports-tickets@… Type: request | Status: new Priority: Normal | Milestone: Component: ports | Version: 1.8.2 Resolution: | Keywords: Port: | ----------------------+-------------------------------- Comment (by tyler@…): So, on my Debian system, the `flock` command is provided by the `util- linux` package, version "2.20.1-5.3". On MacPorts, we have a `util-linux` version "2.22.2_0" (more recent), but it doesn't have the command. Would this just be a matter of tweaking the util-linux package's options to include the binary? -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.macports.org/ticket/23733#comment:4> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for OS X
