[MacPorts] #38433: libiodbc @3.52.8: Make the gui into a variant
#38433: libiodbc @3.52.8: Make the gui into a variant ---------------------+-------------------------------- Reporter: egall@… | Owner: macports-tickets@… Type: defect | Status: new Priority: Normal | Milestone: Component: ports | Version: 2.1.3 Keywords: | Port: libiodbc ---------------------+-------------------------------- A [comment:ticket:35955:5 comment on #35955] says that there's an option to disable the gui for libiodbc. It'd be useful to have a variant for this, so that users who don't want to install gtk2 with the `+x11` variant (say, because they have `+quartz` in their `variants.conf`) wouldn't have to do so if they have to install libiodbc (say, because it gets dragged in as a dependency by the kde4 ports). -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.macports.org/ticket/38433> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for OS X

It would be better to make it a subport, if possible, rather than a variant.
That would work, too; I was just going off of the previous suggestion. -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.macports.org/ticket/38433#comment:2> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for OS X

I'm not actually attaching it to this ticket here, though, because I made some other irrelevant changes to it, too, and those don't necessarily need to get mixed in. -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.macports.org/ticket/38433#comment:3> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for OS X

#38433: libiodbc @3.52.8: Make the gui into a variant --------------------------+-------------------- Reporter: egall@… | Owner: snc@… Type: enhancement | Status: closed Priority: Normal | Milestone: Component: ports | Version: Resolution: fixed | Keywords: Port: libiodbc | --------------------------+-------------------- Changes (by snc@…): * status: assigned => closed * resolution: => fixed Comment: GUI placed into a default +x11 variant in r109848. Also expanded dependency list and required gtk/cairo/pango to use +x11 when libiodbc is +x11. -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.macports.org/ticket/38433#comment:10> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for OS X
