I have attatched a patch for the Portfile from #18785, so that patch must be incorporated first. The universal variant is "hidden" in the post-patch phase and uses a lengthy if/else-block to determine the correct {{{architecture}}} and {{{address-model}}} values from {{{${universal_archs}}}}.
