#16875: Unsuccessful install of MacPorts ----------------------------+----------------------------------------------- Reporter: rwatts@mts.net | Owner: macports-tickets@lists.macosforge.org Type: defect | Status: new Priority: Normal | Milestone: MacPorts 1.6.1 Component: ports | Version: 1.6.0 Keywords: | Port: ----------------------------+----------------------------------------------- Hello I downloaded the disk image for the latest version of mac ports for Leopard. I ran the installer and it completed successfully but mac ports was not installed. I looked in /opt/local/bin for the files and the dates don't seem right: here's the output from there robert-wattss-macbook:bin rob$ ls -g total 344 -r-xr-xr-x 1 admin 73568 Dec 17 2007 daemondo -r-xr-xr-x 1 admin 83411 Dec 17 2007 port lrwxr-xr-x 1 admin 4 Oct 14 20:34 portf -> port -r-xr-xr-x 1 admin 4356 Dec 17 2007 portindex -r-xr-xr-x 1 admin 2530 Dec 17 2007 portmirror Also, after restarting my shell, I can't do a "man port" or just type "port"- I get command not found. I also don't have all of these. I indicated the ones that I do have /Applications/MacPorts \ /Applications/DarwinPorts \ /Library/Tcl/macports1.0 \ <<-- I have this one /Library/Tcl/darwinports1.0 \ /Library/LaunchDaemons/org.macports.* \ /Library/StartupItems/DarwinPortsStartup \ /Library/Receipts/MacPorts*.pkg \ <<-- I have this one /Library/Receipts/DarwinPorts*.pkg \ /etc/manpaths.d/macports \ /etc/paths.d/macports I have tried to build from source as well but that failed. I can re-try that and capture the output if you want. I have an up to date system 10.5 w/ XCODE 3.0, X11 seems to be installed also. I'm not sure what's wrong here. I could also send my console output. -- Ticket URL: <http://trac.macports.org/ticket/16875> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for Mac OS
#16875: Unsuccessful install of MacPorts -----------------------------+---------------------------------------------- Reporter: rwatts@mts.net | Owner: macports-tickets@lists.macosforge.org Type: defect | Status: new Priority: Normal | Milestone: MacPorts 1.6.1 Component: ports | Version: 1.6.0 Resolution: | Keywords: Port: | -----------------------------+---------------------------------------------- Comment(by macsforever2000@macports.org): Actually nothing looks wrong. You are experiencing a bug in the installer. Please see the following [http://trac.macports.org/wiki/ProblemHotlist#a.profilenotsetup wiki page] about it. Here's the short version. In terminal run: {{{ curl -O http://svn.macports.org/repository/macports/branches/release_1_6/base/portmg... && bash postflight }}} Then open a new terminal window and the port command should be recognized. -- Ticket URL: <http://trac.macports.org/ticket/16875#comment:1> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for Mac OS
