Or how should 64-bit building of binaries be done within MacPorts? -- Ticket URL: <http://trac.macports.org/ticket/18430> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for Mac OS

It contains a new setting universal_archs in macports.conf where you can set which archs should be build by using +universal. If you set it to x86_64 (or ppc64) only, you get pure 64-bit binaries. Consider it some kind of hack, and please not that +universal does not work for all ports... #18430: How to build 64-bit binaries? -------------------------------------+-------------------------------------- Reporter: cerieljacobs@… | Owner: macports-tickets@… Type: enhancement | Status: closed Priority: Normal | Milestone: Website & Documentation Component: wiki | Version: 1.7.0 Resolution: invalid | Keywords: 64-bit Port: | -------------------------------------+-------------------------------------- Changes (by blb@…): * status: new => closed * resolution: => invalid Comment: Note that email was written prior to the 1.7.0 release, so it applies to 1.7.0 as well; setting universal_archs and build +universal can get you 64bit binaries, in those cases where a port is known to build universal and work with 64bit in the first place.
