The patch could be committed, and then later someone can look into further updating the port. Ticket #14091 has already been filed to update rb-rails to 2.0. If a maintainer does not respond for 72 hours, then anyone can commit the patch. I don't feel confident in doing so myself, since I don't use Ruby. If you want to be the maintainer of rb-rails, please email the current maintainer. If the email bounces, we can assume they're gone.
