[MacPorts] #16750: postgresql83 port enhancement
#16750: postgresql83 port enhancement ------------------------------------------+--------------------------------- Reporter: darren.weber.lists@gmail.com | Owner: macports-tickets@lists.macosforge.org Type: enhancement | Status: new Priority: Low | Milestone: Port Enhancements Component: ports | Version: 1.6.0 Keywords: | Port: postgresql83 ------------------------------------------+--------------------------------- There are no major changes to the default config and build options. There are more variants and the default variants are set, including --with-doc (this might conflict with postgresql83-doc, but that Portfile seems to disable some config options that are set for postgresql83, for some reason unknown to me). The long_description includes more information about the default variants and the installation config. The post-install includes information about the -server port (as before), plus info for the +doc variant. In general, the file now starts with the vim/emacs format line and this port was :retab(ed) in macvim. -- Ticket URL: <http://trac.macports.org/ticket/16750> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for Mac OS

However, note that postgresql83-doc is the one you want for documentation, as it is an add-on to the base postgresql83 port (though whether a variant or a separate port is better is debatable, since I doubt much is going to need to depend on a doc port). -- Ticket URL: <http://trac.macports.org/ticket/16750#comment:1> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for Mac OS

Can this ticket be marked "won't fix" or "invalid"?
Since the Priority is set to Low, no one has taken ownership of the ticket, and there has been no activity for months,[[BR]] it seems safe to say that the proposed changes will not be incorporated into postgresql83. If there is a different view, the ticket can be reopened. -- Ticket URL: <http://trac.macports.org/ticket/16750#comment:4> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for Mac OS
