[MacPorts] #35890: bzip2 is broken
#35890: bzip2 is broken ------------------------------+--------------------------------------------- Reporter: rshah@… | Owner: macports-tickets@… Type: defect | Status: new Priority: High | Milestone: Component: ports | Version: 2.1.2 Keywords: bzip2 | Port: bzip2 ------------------------------+--------------------------------------------- In order to install bzip2 under Lion I had to do a complete deletion of any existing macports distro. Then after a fresh install and self update, load ONLY bzip2 to ensure that the right keys and files were loaded. bzip2 will not download from any site. I obtained the copy from www.bzip.org and placed it in the directory /opt/local/var/macports/distfiles/bzip2. Then I ran sudo port install bzip2. It finally installed after that. I'm not properly relaying my acrimony toward bzip2. Many times, it has caused me pain in loading macports on new machines. There is something seriously wrong with bzip2's macport install.
