[MacPorts] #49274: GIMP 2.8 Installation Issues
#49274: GIMP 2.8 Installation Issues -------------------------------------+-------------------------------- Reporter: cherryblossom.field17@… | Owner: macports-tickets@… Type: request | Status: new Priority: Normal | Milestone: Component: ports | Version: 2.3.4 Keywords: | Port: -------------------------------------+-------------------------------- I started another ticket a while ago about having issues with dbus. Fortunately, I was able to resolve those, but I'm encountering new problems a little bit later on in the process. No matter what I do, I can't install and activate py27-cython. I tried installing, setting, and activating python 2.7, as well as accessing subsets of it, but nothing works. It simply can't be found. I had to clean and uninstall everything. Moreover, I tried running a self-update (sudo port selfupdate), but it won't work, although I've already installed command line from XCode and agreed to their terms and conditions. What should I do to resolve these issues? Moreover, should I anticipate any other issues along the way? See #49233 and #49224. Could you show us the exact error message you received when trying to install py27-cython? -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.macports.org/ticket/49274#comment:1> MacPorts <https://www.macports.org/> Ports system for OS X

I reinstalled MacPorts last night and was able to successfully GIMP in the end. I didn't even need to forcefully activate dbus this time around. Maybe I just got lucky? Haha! Oh, I had two other quick questions, if that's okay: 1- I had to install XQuartz, as well, in order be able to open the GIMP app. Is that okay? 2- If I want to add GAP, what prompt should I use? Thanks again! -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.macports.org/ticket/49274#comment:4> MacPorts <https://www.macports.org/> Ports system for OS X
