Ran two more time (using the clean opyion before each new try, same failure

Noticed that two of the files seemed to try many mirrors without finding, made me think that something was missing?

Looked at the web page which suggested manual downloading distfile, but it seemed to assume that that "it was there" I am not certain after all the attempts in the log.

I am doing this on Mavericks. A month or so ago I did this macport for my mountain lion machine and it worked perfectly. Macports is behaving on my Mavericks machine as I just finished successfully downloading xxdiff.

Not certain how to proceed and would appreciate some help in understandin if this is a bug or a pilot error and what the correct workaround is (the manual download of distfiles was a tad confusing (smile))

But because [wiki:MisbehavingServers your DNS servers are not standards- compliant], they tell MacPorts that the host does exist, causing MacPorts to download an HTML file from it, rather than the file we wanted, thus causing a checksum mismatch to occur. You are correct that the "mappingresources4pdf" files don't seem to exist on any of the servers. But you are using a very outdated port. The log shows you are using ghostscript 9.10, but the port was updated to version 9.16 in r136284 back in May 2015, which included an update to these "mappingresources4pdf" files to fetch them from elsewhere. Please run "sudo port selfupdate" to receive this and many other updates. We want the port name in the port field. I froze on doing an update as I got lost in the the file not being seen on multiple servers. For some horrible reason/excuse, I seemed to have convinced myself that the mirrors were not part of the port package. Where that misinformation came from, I do not know. I apologize. As for the unclear documentation, the confusion I had was whether "ghostscript" went in the keyword section or the port section. Mind you, I was already thinking things through incorrectly at this point and it did look a bit clearer this evening after I did update and things were working. I think the sentence about not listing words that appear elsewhere in the keyword section didn't register. Maybe adding a [paraphrasing] "[...] appear elsewhere (under Port entry, for example). The thing about being helpful for searching for tickets just begs to give the port name.
