[MacPorts] #15907: No virtual packages
#15907: No virtual packages ---------------------------+------------------------------------------------ Reporter: jbarr@nmt.edu | Owner: macports-tickets@lists.macosforge.org Type: defect | Status: new Priority: Normal | Milestone: Component: ports | Version: 1.6.0 Keywords: | ---------------------------+------------------------------------------------ Hi, I want to create a Portfile that just has a set of dependencies, but no new package of its own. This is so I can make a prebuilt binary package of a set of software to install. As far as I can tell, there is no way to create a Portfile that is like a virtual package. -- Ticket URL: <http://trac.macports.org/ticket/15907> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for Mac OS
#15907: RFE: virtual packages ----------------------------+----------------------------------------------- Reporter: jbarr@nmt.edu | Owner: macports-tickets@lists.macosforge.org Type: enhancement | Status: new Priority: Normal | Milestone: MacPorts base enhancements Component: base | Version: Resolution: | Keywords: ----------------------------+----------------------------------------------- Changes (by jmr@macports.org): * type: defect => enhancement * summary: No virtual packages => RFE: virtual packages * component: ports => base * version: 1.6.0 => * milestone: => MacPorts base enhancements Comment: Actually you can fake a virtual package quite easily. See for example the gimp and gnome ports. It would be nice to have 'real' virtual packages, so I'll leave this open as an enhancement request for that. -- Ticket URL: <http://trac.macports.org/ticket/15907#comment:1> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for Mac OS
