Also OS X 10.4.11 with Xcode 2.5. The haskell.org ticket http://hackage.haskell.org/trac/ghc/ticket/2380 seems to indicate that if I could install a binary version of 6.8.1 then the build would succeed (because it would use 6.8.1 in the bootstrapping compile step that is failing).
