The Priority field is for use by Macports team members only.
OK, that was not so helpful but a point of etiquette received and noted. I see the priority as high as I really need texlive but priority is always subjective. (-: Any actually useful suggestions from anyone before I go somewhere else for my LaTeX? In the meantime, I also had other reasons to reboot the computer and then "sudo port clean"-ed and then tried again. Seems to be working now. I should no by now that if something stops working, always begin by rebooting the computer. Just seems like such a crude approach... Thanks!
