[MacPorts] #15777: p5-xml-regexp conflicts with p5-libxml-enno, which has superseded it
#15777: p5-xml-regexp conflicts with p5-libxml-enno, which has superseded it ----------------------------------------------+----------------------------- Reporter: stolen-from-macports-trac@l2g.to | Owner: macports-tickets@lists.macosforge.org Type: defect | Status: new Priority: Normal | Milestone: Port Bugs Component: ports | Version: 1.6.0 Keywords: | ----------------------------------------------+----------------------------- Both p5-libxml-enno and p5-xml-regexp are providing the XML::RegExp module from CPAN. This causes a conflict if p5-xml-regexp is installed, then an attempt is made to install p5-libxml-enno. I am still a newbie; can someone let me know how cases like this are best handled? I'm assuming that, ultimately, p5-xml-regexp will have to be removed from MacPorts. -- Ticket URL: <http://trac.macports.org/ticket/15777> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for Mac OS
#15777: p5-xml-regexp conflicts with p5-libxml-enno, which has superseded it -----------------------------------------------+---------------------------- Reporter: stolen-from-macports-trac@l2g.to | Owner: narf_tm@macports.org Type: defect | Status: new Priority: Normal | Milestone: Port Bugs Component: ports | Version: 1.6.0 Resolution: | Keywords: -----------------------------------------------+---------------------------- Changes (by raimue@macports.org): * owner: macports-tickets@lists.macosforge.org => narf_tm@macports.org Comment: Although the latest version of p5-xml-regexp has a newer date than p5 -libxml-enno, the README file of p5-libxml-enno states: {{{ libxml-enno contains the modules XML::DOM, XML::XQL, XML::Checker and several other packages. These modules are no longer distributed separately. }}} But I did not check if they are really identical. I could not find other modules in p5-libxml-enno which are also available separate. Also, none of the two ports has dependents, so removing one of them would be easy. Assigning to maintainer of p5-xml-regexp. -- Ticket URL: <http://trac.macports.org/ticket/15777#comment:1> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for Mac OS

(#15376, #15377) They both declared dependencies on another package that was folded into and replaced with p5-libxml-enno. -- Ticket URL: <http://trac.macports.org/ticket/15777#comment:2> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for Mac OS
