Your MacPorts installation cannot resolve the hostnames of any of our archive mirrors. Is your system behind a firewall or proxy? 1. Ordinarily, MacPorts simply builds ports from source if it cannot fetch binary archives; your installation is just failing. Have you edited your `macports.conf` file to change this behavior? What does this command return? {{{ grep buildfromsource /opt/local/etc/macports/macports.conf }}} -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.macports.org/ticket/52139#comment:3> MacPorts <https://www.macports.org/> Ports system for OS X

I use a proxy at work but not now. 2. In response to your request, here the answer {{{ #buildfromsource ifneeded }}} TH Replying to [comment:3 larryv@…]:

This doesn’t look like a problem with `demeter` or `libcxx` to me; I think something else is awry. I suggest posting to [[MailingLists|macports-users]] to see if someone can help debug this; you’ll reach a wider audience there than with this ticket. -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.macports.org/ticket/52139#comment:5> MacPorts <https://www.macports.org/> Ports system for OS X

Finally, I was able to install demeter. For gmp and ld64-latest, it did not work the first time so I had to clean the port and try again. So, the problem is solved. Thanks again.
