Please note that I had installed kde before on this machine without problem... after some resent updates that I did a week ago a lot of things stopped working and I thought the solution was to clean up and do a fresh install but hey-ho! put myself in a lot of trouble... -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.macports.org/ticket/28503> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for Mac OS

#28503: Failed to install kdenetwork3 and kde on snowleopard (10.6.6) -------------------------------+-------------------------------------------- Reporter: sibanda@… | Owner: macports-tickets@… Type: defect | Status: new Priority: Normal | Milestone: Component: ports | Version: 1.9.2 Keywords: | Port: kdenetwork3 -------------------------------+-------------------------------------------- Comment(by sibanda@…): I have tried all possibilities on this. Tried a fresh install after removing everything associated with macports that I had before and making sure there is nothing in /usr/local, also made sure the gnubin path is off and all that I can think of, and reading through various google references about the ld: symbol(s) not found error, I am thinking this might be associated with the qt3 lib that the lines below are trying to link.... I am just wondering what has changed since December 22 when I made the first installation successfully. I just had to re-install because I applied some updates which made a lot of things t stop working and thought a re-install of the entire system was the solution. Now since I have been so dependent on this, my work has stalled for the past two weeks and seems there is no help coming through anytime soon!! troubled! /usr/bin/g++-4.2 -o ./krfb/kcm_krfb/.libs/kcm_krfb.so -bundle ./krfb/kcm_krfb/.libs/configurationwidget.o ./krfb/kcm_krfb/.libs/kcm_krfb.o ./krfb/kcm_krfb/.libs/kcm_krfb.lax/libkrfbconfig.a/configuration.o ./krfb/kcm_krfb/.libs/kcm_krfb.lax/libkrfbconfig.a/configuration_skel.o ./krfb/kcm_krfb/.libs/kcm_krfb.lax/libkrfbconfig.a/getifaddrs.o ./krfb/kcm_krfb/.libs/kcm_krfb.lax/libkrfbconfig.a/invitation.o ./krfb/kcm_krfb/.libs/kcm_krfb.lax/libkrfbconfig.a/invitedialog.o ./krfb/kcm_krfb/.libs/kcm_krfb.lax/libkrfbconfig.a/invitewidget.o ./krfb/kcm_krfb/.libs/kcm_krfb.lax/libkrfbconfig.a/kinetinterface.o ./krfb/kcm_krfb/.libs/kcm_krfb.lax/libkrfbconfig.a/kinetinterfacewatcher.o ./krfb/kcm_krfb/.libs/kcm_krfb.lax/libkrfbconfig.a/kserviceregistry.o ./krfb/kcm_krfb/.libs/kcm_krfb.lax/libkrfbconfig.a/manageinvitations.o ./krfb/kcm_krfb/.libs/kcm_krfb.lax/libkrfbconfig.a/personalinvitedialog.o ./krfb/kcm_krfb/.libs/kcm_krfb.lax/libkrfbconfig.a/personalinvitewidget.o ./krfb/kcm_krfb/.libs/kcm_krfb.lax/libkrfbconfig.a/uuid.o -L/opt/local/lib -L/opt/local/lib/qt3/lib /opt/local/lib/libz.dylib /opt/local/lib/libGL.dylib /opt/local/lib/libXt.dylib /opt/local/lib/libXfixes.dylib /opt/local/lib/libexpat.dylib -lcrypto -L/usr/X11R6/lib /opt/local/lib/libkdecore.dylib /opt/local/lib/libDCOP.dylib -lutil /opt/local/lib/libart_lgpl_2.dylib /opt/local/lib/libidn.dylib /opt/local/lib/libintl.dylib -lc /opt/local/lib/libiconv.dylib /opt/local/lib/libkdefx.dylib /opt/local/lib/qt3/lib/libqt-mt.dylib -lresolv -lGL /opt/local/lib/libXmu.dylib /opt/local/lib/libXrandr.dylib /opt/local/lib/libXcursor.dylib /opt/local/lib/libXinerama.dylib /opt/local/lib/libXft.dylib /opt/local/lib/libfreetype.dylib /opt/local/lib/libfontconfig.dylib -ldl /opt/local/lib/libpng14.dylib -lm /opt/local/lib/libXext.dylib /opt/local/lib/libSM.dylib /opt/local/lib/libICE.dylib -lpthread /opt/local/lib/libXrender.dylib /opt/local/lib/libX11.dylib /opt/local/lib/libxcb.dylib /opt/local/lib/libXau.dylib /opt/local/lib/libXdmcp.dylib -lz /opt/local/lib/libkdeui.dylib /opt/local/lib/libkio.dylib /opt/local/lib/libkdesu.dylib /opt/local/lib/libkwalletclient.dylib -Wl,-dead_strip_dylibs -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.macports.org/ticket/28503#comment:3> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for Mac OS
