#48484: mpich-default: picks up fortran in /usr/local ----------------------------+------------------------ Reporter: yang.mei@… | Owner: eborisch@… Type: defect | Status: new Priority: Normal | Milestone: Component: ports | Version: 2.3.3 Resolution: | Keywords: Port: mpich-default | ----------------------------+------------------------ Changes (by ionic@…): * cc: sean@… (added) * owner: macports-tickets@… => eborisch@… * port: => mpich-default Comment: `mpich-default` seems to be picking up `libgfortran` in `/usr/local/`. This is not exactly a MacPorts problem, but `${prefix}/lib` should override this. It seems that something is trying to link `libgfortran`, though, and not directly. Please CC the maintainer(s) next time, if any. -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.macports.org/ticket/48484#comment:1> MacPorts <https://www.macports.org/> Ports system for OS X

Some packages even hardcode looking in that location, so it's advisable to not have anything there. Unless Eric disagrees, I would say this is an invalid setup. -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.macports.org/ticket/48484#comment:2> MacPorts <https://www.macports.org/> Ports system for OS X

Use 'sudo' perhaps? Or try in trace(-t) mode during install? We don't in general support fixing things if stuff from /usr/local interferes. -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.macports.org/ticket/48484#comment:4> MacPorts <https://www.macports.org/> Ports system for OS X

If this does not work, why should I do to install the program? -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.macports.org/ticket/48484#comment:5> MacPorts <https://www.macports.org/> Ports system for OS X

To be able to post to macports-users or macports-dev, you will have to sign up first. More information [https://lists.macosforge.org/mailman/listinfo/macports-users on the info page]. Run `sudo port clean mpich-default` and retry installing via `sudo port -t install pymol`. -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.macports.org/ticket/48484#comment:6> MacPorts <https://www.macports.org/> Ports system for OS X
