Shouldn't you actually just need to use the apache2 variant?
Ryan suggested this as a solution in an email response. I'm just about finished doing this. For the reference of others, the following command is what Ryan suggested using: {{{ port install php5 +apache2 }}} That installs MacPort's Apache 2 (separate from Apple's version).
