The patch you attached is the same one from #39676. Hmm, not sure how that happened...
Also you’re using the patch name “Portfile-rrdtool.diff” verbatim from the Guide. The point is to substitute the appropriate port in the patchfile name—i.e., “Portfile-gnumeric.diff”. Maybe the documentation should be changed to make that more apparent, "Portfile-PORT_NAME.diff, where PORT_NAME is the name of the port" for example.
