[MacPorts] #32197: BitTorrent 5.2.0 build failure
#32197: BitTorrent 5.2.0 build failure ----------------------------------+----------------------------------------- Reporter: aednichols@… | Owner: macports-tickets@… Type: defect | Status: new Priority: Normal | Milestone: Component: ports | Version: 2.0.3 Keywords: | Port: ----------------------------------+----------------------------------------- BitTorrent fails to build with the following error: {{{ OSError: [Errno 13] Permission denied: '/Users/aednichols/Library/Application Support' shell command " cd "/opt/local/var/macports/build/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync. macports.org_release_tarballs_ports_net_bittorrent/bittorrent/work/BitTorrent-5.2.0" && /opt/local/bin/python2.5 setup.py --no-user-cfg build " returned error 1 }}} I've tried cleaning and rebuilding BitTorrent and its dependencies 3 times, and the error has recurred on each occasion. In the course of doing system maintenance, I have also repaired disk permissions, but that did not improve the situation. I'm running 10.5.8 on a G5, with Xcode 3.1.4 installed. Attached is the complete build log. -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.macports.org/ticket/32197> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for Mac OS

The software should not be trying to look in your Application Support folder. I'm uncertain why we need this port at all anymore. Surely you'd want the much newer version of the BitTorrent software available for download by visiting http://www.bittorrent.com/ ? -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.macports.org/ticket/32197#comment:2> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for Mac OS

However, it seems like this should be fixed, or the port removed. -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.macports.org/ticket/32197#comment:3> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for Mac OS
