Currently it is disabled by default, and doesn't seem to "pick up on it and use it" if you have previously installed the dvdnav macport. So one fix might be to see why it's not detecting it right. It might fix it just to remove the --disable-dvdnav option. It might also fix it to make an explicit dependency on libdvdnav, and also remove the --disable-dvdnav option.
