[MacPorts] #44179: port request: BSD lint, aka xlint
#44179: port request: BSD lint, aka xlint ---------------------+-------------------------------- Reporter: jhi@… | Owner: macports-tickets@… Type: request | Status: new Priority: Normal | Milestone: Component: ports | Version: 2.3.1 Keywords: | Port: ---------------------+-------------------------------- The good old lint(1) is still available from NetBSD: http://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/NetBSD-current/src/usr.bin/xlint/ It is also available in FreeBSD: http://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/NetBSD-current/src/usr.bin/xlint/ I tried quickly grabbing the sources and compiling it, but ran into the *BSD specific build oddities (like ".include <bsd.subdir.mk> " in Makefiles), with which I'm not that familiar. I'm aware of splint (www.splint.org) being available with macports, but it seems to die (become unusable) pretty quickly on anything that touches OS X header files (e.g. trying to process the Perl source code files). I have no proof that the Classic Lint would fare any better, but I can hope. -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.macports.org/ticket/44179> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for OS X
