Recently inhertited a G5 powerpc, updated to 10.5.8. Installed Xcode 3 and Macports When I attempt to install any port at all, I get a shell failure. Uninstalled and reinstalled both xcode3 and macports with no change. attached example where gperf failed on attempt install for ruby gems

sudo port install ruby rb-rubygems

I'm guessing there is a configuration issue on my end; would appreciate any assistance. Thanks.
