#44591: Glom will not build because of missing library ----------------------+-------------------------------- Reporter: m.rick@… | Owner: macports-tickets@… Type: defect | Status: new Priority: Normal | Milestone: Component: ports | Version: 2.3.1 Keywords: | Port: ----------------------+-------------------------------- Hi The glom 1.4.2 needs gnome-python-extras as dependency, but it is not available. {{{ MacPorts 2.3.1 Entering interactive mode... ("help" for help, "quit" to quit) [Users/m-rick] > install glom ---> Computing dependencies for glom Error: Dependency 'gnome-python-extras' not found. To report a bug, follow the instructions in the guide: http://guide.macports.org/#project.tickets Error: Processing of port glom failed }}} Latest versions of Glom are not using gnome-python-extras anymore which is deprecated, but PyGda which isn't available in MacPorts. [http://www.glom.org/wiki/index.php?title=Download] Latest Glom version is 1.27 [http://ftp.gnome.org/pub/GNOME/sources/glom/1.27/] and it is GTK3 based. Glom is much better than FileMaker Pro because it can link to PGSQL, MySQL and SQLite unlike FileMaker, and can access blobs fields like picture unlike FileMaker which ODBC connector is very limited… So Glom is a good alternative to get a nice GUI with for OpenSource databases. -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.macports.org/ticket/44591> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for OS X
