#30718: p5-time-y2038: build hangs ------------------------------+--------------------------------------------- Reporter: jmr@… | Owner: narf_tm@… Type: defect | Status: new Priority: Normal | Milestone: Component: ports | Version: 2.0.1 Keywords: | Port: p5-time-y2038 ------------------------------+--------------------------------------------- The 10.6/x86_64 buildbot slave times out (no output for 20 minutes) building this port. I've had to make it just fail early for now. http://build.macports.org/builders/buildports/builds/188/steps/compile/logs/... -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.macports.org/ticket/30718> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for Mac OS

I only see it on Snow Leopard, not later versions of OS X. If I interrupt the hanging build and retry without cleaning, it immediately succeeds. If I build outside of MacPorts, it succeeds too. -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.macports.org/ticket/30718#comment:3> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for OS X
#30718: p5-time-y2038: build hangs ----------------------------+-------------------------------- Reporter: jmr@… | Owner: macports-tickets@… Type: defect | Status: new Priority: Normal | Milestone: Component: ports | Version: 2.0.1 Resolution: | Keywords: Port: p5-time-y2038 | ----------------------------+-------------------------------- Comment (by ryandesign@…): The problem seems to be that although the build system detects that [https://rt.cpan.org/Public/Bug/Display.html?id=40764 check_max has hung], and therefore uses default values instead, the check_max program stays running; MacPorts seems to wait for it to exit, because killing it in Activity Monitor allows the build phase to end normally. I [https://rt.cpan.org/Public/Bug/Display.html?id=97933 reported this] to the developer. -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.macports.org/ticket/30718#comment:4> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for OS X
