[MacPorts] #19808: Possibility of misconfigured PyOpenSSL egg
#19808: Possibility of misconfigured PyOpenSSL egg -------------------------------+-------------------------------------------- Reporter: dave@… | Owner: macports-tickets@… Type: defect | Status: new Priority: Normal | Milestone: Component: ports | Version: 1.7.1 Keywords: | Port: -------------------------------+-------------------------------------------- I'm not at all sure this is a macports bug, but [http://allmydata.org/trac/tahoe/ticket/704#comment:7 this ticket] describes a situation where my macports-installed python25 had a pyOpenSSL egg installed in it by something other than macports (possibly by easy_install-2.5?) that was not compatible with the Python build. My hunch is that the pyOpenSSL had binaries compiled against a UCS4 Python, but I don't know for sure. In any case, this possibility is disturbing. If there's anything macports can do to prevent it, please do! I'll also report this to the Python devs. -- Ticket URL: <http://trac.macports.org/ticket/19808> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for Mac OS
