[MacPorts] #29663: git-core install fails when using +universal as default for all ports
#29663: git-core install fails when using +universal as default for all ports -------------------------------------+-------------------------------------- Reporter: robitaille@… | Owner: macports-tickets@… Type: defect | Status: new Priority: High | Milestone: Component: ports | Version: 1.9.2 Keywords: | Port: -------------------------------------+-------------------------------------- I started with a clean installation of macports and set the +universal flag to be a default in /opt/local/etc/macports/variants.conf I also added ppc as an architecture in /opt/local/etc/macports/macports.conf for the universal_archs option I then did sudo port install git-core and it installed all the dependencies first, and then crashes on git-core itself due to some issue with curl header files. The log file is attached. -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.macports.org/ticket/29663> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for Mac OS

I'll bet the problem is that you added the ppc arch. Don't do that: you're on Snow Leopard, which doesn't run on PowerPC machines. -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.macports.org/ticket/29663#comment:2> MacPorts <http://www.macports.org/> Ports system for Mac OS
