There is a bug in the install script, which runs: {{{ subprocess.check_call ('cp -r build/BirdFont.app ' + dest + '/Applications/', shell=True) }}} First, the use of the cp "-r" option is "strongly discouraged" according to the manpage. Use "-R" instead. Also, use "-p" to preserve permissions. (Don't use "-a", which combines -R and -P and -p, because although that's what you want, it doesn't exist on Tiger.) But this is not the cause of the problem in our case because in the MacPorts portfile we don't use that; we use a post-destroot block to copy the app manually.
