This has the potential to break MacPorts ports that use ImageMagick, especially ports of older software that hasn't been updated in awhile, and also scripts written by MacPorts users. Meanwhile, the developers promise to continue updating ImageMagick 6 for at least 10 years. So I think it would behoove us to stay with ImageMagick 6 for the time being.
