The issue had been reported ([https://savannah.nongnu.org/bugs/index.php?45376 bug report]) and fixed by renaming TYPEOF() macro ([http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/freetype/freetype2.git/commit/?id=5931268ee... git commit]).
