Using Leopard's ruby with Macports' ruby libraries

As the subject states, I'm looking to find a way to use Leopard's ruby with Macport's ruby libraries like rb-rubygems, rb-mysql, et al. The main reason for doing this is so that I can use DTrace probes for ruby applications.
