Sorry I didn't respond earlier. I maintain glib2 and libiconv but I've never seen this error before.
glib2 has been updated to 2.14.3 and libiconv has been updated to 1.12 so perhaps you should "sudo port selfupdate" and see if those new versions work for you.
Also, Mac OS X 10.4.11 is out, as is Xcode 2.5.0. You may want to update to those as well (though I myself have not yet, and 10.4.10 and Xcode 2.4.1 should work fine).
