Greetings, Ruby 1.8.5 has been out for about three weeks now and the MacPorts version still lingers at 1.8.4. Does anybody take care of it ? The Portfile says that the port maintainer is 'darwinports@opendarwin.org' which I translate to 'nobody specifically', which doesn't seem quite right considering all the press Ruby is getting these days. Does this port need a new maintainer ? -- Luc Heinrich - luc@honk-honk.com - http://www.honk-honk.com

Yeah, I do. But first I'd like to fully understand the reasons behind all the patch files. Most of them seem to provide 'vendor' and 'vendorarch' directories support (for which I would also love to have a rationale :)) and there's this patch to the 'set_arg0' function in ruby.c which is probably a fix for the known irb bug [1] which might have been fixed in 1.8.5, or not... :) [1] http://groups.google.com/group/comp.lang.ruby/browse_frm/thread/ c52e6c3b2e51ff72 -- Luc Heinrich - luc@honk-honk.com - http://www.honk-honk.com
