After I did a sync and upgrade outdated today a number of things, including (unfortunately) svn, stopped working with errors like mta@fitzrovia:607svn dyld: Library not loaded: /opt/local/lib/libcom_err.1.dylib Referenced from: /opt/local/bin/svn Reason: image not found Looking at the list archive, it appears that libcom_err.1.dylib once was provided by the heimdal port but it seems that when this port got upgraded this file got deleted. The only port that requires heimdal seems to be gnome-vfs, but if you remove the dependency on heimdal (and uninstall heimdal) gnome-vfs is quite happy to use the Kerberos support that is part of 10.4. I solved my problem by removing the heimdal port and rebuilding gnome-vfs and subversion. So far things seem to be working fine.
