Is anyone having problem with ethereal?
Hello all, I'm trying to build ethereal but I'm getting a checksum mismatch for the glib-2.12.2.tar.bz2. Is anyone having the same problem? It might not matter, but I'm running Mac OS X 10.4.7 (Intel) with Xcode 2.4. Here's the error message I got when I tried to install ethereal: $ sudo port -d install ethereal +adns +ipv6 +net-snmp +pcre ---> Attempting to fetch glib-2.12.2.tar.bz2 from http:// ftp.rpmfind.net/linux/gnome.org/sources/glib/2.12 % Total % Received % Xferd Average Speed Time Time Time Current Dload Upload Total Spent Left Speed 100 163 0 163 0 0 1 0 --:--:-- 0:02:02 --:--:-- 36 ---> Verifying checksum(s) for glib2 DEBUG: Executing com.apple.checksum (glib2) ---> Checksumming glib-2.12.2.tar.bz2 Error: Checksum (md5) mismatch for glib-2.12.2.tar.bz2 Portfile checksum: glib-2.12.2.tar.bz2 md5 45471ca86af288b7a48116ab2b498d0c Distfile checksum: glib-2.12.2.tar.bz2 md5 579ad6e6244c6a73ea72c3e54b0f8512 Error: Checksum (sha1) mismatch for glib-2.12.2.tar.bz2 Portfile checksum: glib-2.12.2.tar.bz2 sha1 e605b404395dd4c93150e9eed08562732ca09c5a Distfile checksum: glib-2.12.2.tar.bz2 sha1 593fe3af78cf5efec54341f8696f6cdd36e4f6ce Error: Checksum (rmd160) mismatch for glib-2.12.2.tar.bz2 Portfile checksum: glib-2.12.2.tar.bz2 rmd160 e822fdba12421849b9656017a6900fb515d00e73 Distfile checksum: glib-2.12.2.tar.bz2 rmd160 fd62993ca5f2c3e8d4fb3ff554a2d9920b614985 Error: Target com.apple.checksum returned: Unable to verify file checksums Warning: the following items did not execute (for glib2): com.apple.activate com.apple.extract com.apple.checksum com.apple.patch com.apple.configure com.apple.build com.apple.destroot com.apple.install Error: The following dependencies failed to build: glib2 gtk2 atk libpng zlib pango Xft2 fontconfig expat freetype xrender render cairo tiff jpeg libpcap openssl pcre Error: Status 1 encountered during processing. Try wireshark, what ethereal is now called. I know it builds fine on PPC and Intel. It is newer and ethereal will be removed at some point. Mark
