Try using debug to get more information. If that file isn't there it must have failed to build so there should be an error earlier and it may have been suppressed. sudo port -v install transmission Mark

Right. And transmission_0.6.1_0 installed just fine for me just now, on an Intel Mac with Mac OS X 10.4.10, Xcode 2.4.1 and MacPorts 1.5. You should also tell us what Mac you're on, and what versions of Mac OS X, Xcode and MacPorts you have.
