Your point is well taken. When I first created the Portfile, we had an online discussion about this very issue. The, then DarwinPorts, powers that be chose the gnu prefix, rather than the g prefix as in gawk (OK this is not quite fair since GNU awk is always called gawk). Off hand, I don't know how many other ports depend on GNU sed, so changing then name at this point may not be a good idea.

Something has been bothering me for a moment: For consistency's sake, wouldn't be better to set --program- prefix=g in gnused? That's the program-prefix we can see in other GNU ports, e.g. {core,diff,find}utils.

Anyway, i've made some modifications to this port (mainly concerning nls support) and i will file a ticket about it soon.
